Justin
Welby tells BBC radio interviewer there are moments when he doubts – but he is
certain about the existence of Jesus

The
archbishop of Canterbury has admitted to having doubts about the existence of
God and disclosed that on a recent morning jog with his dog he questioned why
the Almighty had failed to intervene to prevent an injustice.
In a
light-hearted but personal interview in front of hundreds of people in Bristol cathedral last weekend, Justin Welby said: "There are moments, sure, where
you think 'Is there a God? Where is God?'"

Welby
quickly added that as the leader of the world's 80 million-strong Anglican
community this was "probably not what the archbishop of Canterbury should
say".
Earlier,
the interviewer, BBC Bristol's Lucy Tegg, reminded him of the weight his words
carried. "You have a remarkably prominent role within the faith community
around the world," Tegg said.
"I've
noticed," Welby quipped.
Tegg then
asked him: "Do you ever doubt?"
Welby
replied: "Yes. I do. In lots of different ways really. It's a very good
question. That means I've got to think about what I'm going to say. Yes I
do." He added: "I love the Psalms, if you look at Psalm 88, that's
full of doubt."
Welby
suggested that his doubts were a regular occurrence, by recounting a recent
morning run with dog.
"The
other day I was praying over something as I was running and I ended up saying
to God: 'Look, this is all very well but isn't it about time you did something
– if you're there' – which is probably not what the archbishop of Canterbury
should say."
He added:
"It is not about feelings, it is about the fact that God is faithful and
the extraordinary thing about being a Christian is that God is faithful when we
are not."
Later in
the interview, Welby said he was certain about the existence of Jesus, even
talking about his presence beside him. "We know about Jesus, we can't
explain all the questions in the world, we can't explain about suffering, we
can't explain loads of things but we know about Jesus," Welby said.
Asked what
he did when life got challenging, Welby said: "I keep going and call to
Jesus to help me, and he picks me up."

Humanity has consistently put God in a box of fear. Humanity
fears God, does it not? It's because God appears immense and humans are small.
Let's talk about that Human perception. The Human wants to paste Human
attributes on divinity. It's all you have to compare to, so therefore, you
apply everything Human to the divine.
When you step across the veil, in your historical
perception, Humans want to find strife. You're going to find war. You're going
to find angels fighting angels. That's your mythology, isn't it? You're going
to find all of the attributes of humanity that you have pasted upon God
completely and totally. You're going to find punishment and reward, revenge and
jealousy.
Dear ones,
do I really have to tell you that these things do not exist on my side of the
veil? I want to tell you what exists on my side of the veil. It's a rainbow of
magnificent energy that sings a message in color and light. There's no
strife here. The creator energy has no strife. There's no punishment or reward
here, since there is no judgment. Judgment is the constraining of a Human's
consciousness that does not allow for unconditional love. There's only the
energy of a loving creator here. You're a part of the creator energy family.
You should know this, and you should also have the wisdom to know that all of
the things you paste upon God are your own Human attributes. The kind of
reality on the other side of the veil is vastly different than the prison of
reality that you have created for yourself in 3D. Yet it's all you have, so
that's how you think. It's time to pass this perception, and to realize that
creator energy is beyond your ability to see and beyond your scope of
understanding.
For centuries you haven't been able to think past that box of what God must be like. So you create a Human-like God with wars in heaven, angel strife, things that would explain the devil, fallen angels, pearly gates, lists of dos and don'ts, and many rules still based on cultures that are centuries old. You create golden streets and even sexual pleasures as rewards for men (of course) - all Human perspective, pasted upon God. I want to tell you that it's a lot different than that. I want to remind you that there are those who have seen it! Why don't you ask somebody who has had what you would call a near-death experience? ..."

Let's talk
about the next one - communication. Why is it that you want to humanize God? As
I indicated a moment ago, you put God apart from you, make Him a male, give Him
a beard and a deep voice. You assign Him
to elder status and you talk to Him, you worship, and you build statues to
humanize Him. God is inside! The greatest energy of the creator of Earth sits
in every single Human Being, right inside. Every single piece of DNA has this,
100 trillion of them. There's a consciousness and even a communication between
DNA molecules that science doesn't even know about. God is in you! So why do
you rip it out and build buildings to hold it?
Let me ask
you something: Let's say it's time for you to talk to one of your own body
organs, and the exercise of the day would be to talk to your kidney. Would you
then build a giant kidney and worship it? Oh, how 3D of you! Do you see what
I'm saying? Why would you do that when it's inside your body? It's because you
do not perceive God as coming from you. So it's about divine perception. It is
time for you to change your image of you! When you do, you will open your eyes,
look in the mirror and say, "I am that I am. God is in me." It's hard
to do that as a Human Being. It requires you step out of your old reality of
victimization.
What does
your culture tell you about your divinity? Everything you see in the media
tells you you're broken. You need this, you need that. Have you ever seen a
commercial where they look at you and say, "You don't need anything but
yourself. Now get on with it."? No.
How can you
best communicate with Spirit? I will tell you. You've got to fall in love with
yourself! That is the key. That is the portal. It is being OK to have God inside
you. You were not born dirty; you were born magnificent - magnificent! And the
ones in this room who have discovered their magnificence are not ego-driven.
They're love-driven, and that's a big difference. They love themselves as they
would love God. They understand the balance of standing up for what they
believe in as being part of light, and rejecting things that represent old
energy and the dark. At the same time, they hold their egos at bay so it never
controls them. That's what the masters did and that's what the masters taught.
Communication with God is automatic when you touch that part of the creator
that is inside yourself. That opens the portal.
Wars in
Heaven?
Look at
history for a moment, and see what humans have decided about God and the
history of God. Let me tell you the story that is taught today. Once upon a
time, God, the creator of the Universe, had a problem. It seems to be that
there was a war going on. Somehow, it was a war with the angels involved, and
certain angels didn't like the way God was doing things. Now, right away, does
that sound like God or does it sound like men?
The story
continues. Finally, because the war was going badly, the instigator was thrown
out of heaven (or whatever you call it) and fell to Earth. He took his
followers with him and went underground. Now he has a tail, horns and makes
fire. Again, dear ones, does that sound like the creator of the Universe to
you? Does that sound like the core of love, the multidimensional source of all
that is? No. It sounds like a children's story that humanizes God so that the
masses can be controlled. Wars are what Humans do, not the creator of your
Universe. A war in heaven? The story itself is the ultimate humanization of
God. Humans create scenarios of judgment, punishment, revenge, and drama, then
place it upon God. If you have any spark
of spiritual logic, it will shout that this is the persona of Humans, not God.
The Love of God
I have told
you before the mother who looks at the child has nothing but love. That family
member never tells the child that she's going to ignore him, or that life with
her is going to be difficult. She never casts the child into a dark place if he
doesn't do what he's told. Instead, there is love, understanding, patience, and
help. That's all. And that's what you get from the other side of the veil, dear
ones. That's why I stand before you now. Why do you humanize God and reduce the
splendor of this creator energy to a common duality? The reason is that it
represents an old energy of Human thought, and not the wisdom of a new earth. Humanity
is changing, and so is the understanding of the God inside.…”
