I’ve been studying philosophy for some years and it never occurred to me, studying Buddhism, that one’s future is pre-determined, which would be the case if you are able to accurately predict what is to come. While I can understand that one’s future is affected by past karmic flow, wouldn’t you then say that, given the will and the intention in the present moment the future events/outcome can still be changed?

Dear Aneil,
We always say that the future is not written in stone. There are multiple potentialities. But we believe that we all come in with a soul blueprint or contract that we map out for ourselves (with the assistance of a High Council of ‘spiritual advisors’) before birth. This blueprint, if you will, has already mapped out who our parents will be, our children, our careers, our major life lessons, and so on.
That being said, we believe that there is no such thing as a fixed reality or absolute reality. The future is malleable, fluid. In Buddhism, it is considered to be ‘mutable.’ We can, as individuals and collectively, influence the outcome with focused spiritual practice, certain types of prayer and free will. As spiritual counselors, we teach people how to maximize their individual potential and increase their chances of success.
From a psychic standpoint, we see many options that present themselves, with one or two being the most likely outcome depending on the actions one chooses to take. Definitely, as we said, our individual intention or mass intention can change the outcome of events.
When we predicted the events of 9/11 on international radio, we were hoping that by making this information public to millions of people two years in advance that the prayers of enough people would be powerful enough to derail the plan. Sadly, at that time we were not well known enough to be taken seriously.
They are listening now.
Both of us almost always channel the same information and predictions in detail, even if we are in different locations. We feel that gives our predictions more validity and indicates a stronger likelihood of an event’s happening. However, we never say that it is carved in rock. You always have options and it is up to you to create and change your own destiny! We joke that we are “Harry Potter Times Two!” But people often expect us to wave a magic wand and do the heavy lifting for them, or give them an insurance policy that what they want will happen like a guarantee. No psychic can do that.
We just wrote a book called Psychic Intelligence that will address this very fascinating subject, and many others. This new book may be available for pre-order as early as October 2010! Stay tuned for updates.
